About

I’m Abbi Lawson, and I have a deep passion for nature. I’ve been foraging for wild food for years, learning about the ecosystems that exist around me in my home in the Eden Valley and further afield. As a big foodie and avid baker, I strongly believe that one of the best ways we can connect with nature is through what we choose to put on our plate.

I love wild garlic scones, hogweed seed spiced buns, elderflower cheesecake, and sloe blondies—not just because they’re delicious, but because when I eat them, I know exactly where those amazing wild flavours came from. I watched them grow and change throughout the year, and picked them when they were perfectly ripe for harvesting, following a deep instinct that I believe exists in all of us.

A couple of years ago I was on the Great British Bake Off and was given the chance of a lifetime to talk about the importance of eating seasonally and sustainably on a massive platform. It was an unforgettable experience that has driven me onward to sharing my passion and creativity with others.

I also work for a local veg box scheme, growing and delivering sustainable, seasonal veg throughout the year. Hedgerow and Hearth was born as a perfect vessel for my love of seasonal food, foraging, and baking.
